Mozilla Bangladesh arranged a workshop in bn-BD SuMo Day on October 20, 2018. Students of JU, IUBAT, AIUB, NSU, DU, BUBT and Prime Asia attended the workshop. Basically, it was about localization; to make people know about the products or services which Mozilla provides. Thousands of volunteers are directly connected with the sumo localization. The purpose of this workshop was ensuring them knowing about the opportunities of Mozilla to contribute and to develop skills of the participants.
There are plenty of products of Mozilla foundation and each one is in the English language. It would be better if users can choose their localized language to easy access to the products and so itís necessary to translate these in the Bengali language. However, participants figured out top 50 templates needed to translate or update. Then they started to translate them.
Within the workshop timespan, the participants translated about 25+ articles. They asked different types of questions to our mentors.Mentors answered the queries interactively. After 2 hours, we gave participants a coffee and snacks break. At that time, they were busy with networking. They also got to know themselves developed a new bonding!
Anjum Rashid, a participator from JU, stated — “I was always curious about open source contribution. Learning to localize mozilla support section is my first interaction with mozilla. This workshop seemed preety interesting”
